Every Selene Molteno garment is crafted from 100% natural wool fibres from South Africa which is home to some of the world’s best quality wools and highest ethical farming standards. We have a deep commitment to the ethical treatment of animals, the environment and its people. Our design and manufacturing process is completed by luxury knitwear experts in Italy.
Conscious Farming
The sheep and goats that provide us with our Merino wool and mohair live in optimal and healthy conditions with plenty of sun, water, and grass. Their genetics, nutrition and wellbeing are carefully managed by experts.
Cruelty-Free Wool
20 years ago, South Africa bred out the genetics that make the practice of mulesing necessary, which means sheep can be sheared year after year without harm.
Biodegradable Materials
Our clothing is made with 100% natural fibres, which means that no microplastics can pollute the environment if the clothing ends up in a landfill.
Fair Labour
We only source from providers that follow the highest standards in terms of wages and working conditions. We believe that everyone should be treated respectfully at every step of the process.
